The Don Lulu Foundation has empowered Abians with Point Of Sale (POS) machines to the beneficiaries at a handover ceremony at the country home of the founder and Chairman of the Foundation,Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) in Umuawa Aloacha, Ohuhu, Abia state.
The Chairman of the Foundation was represented by his mother Mrs Peace Igbokwe, who admonished the beneficiaries to put the device into productive use .
Mrs Igbokwe stated that the Don Lulu Foundation come up with the programme to help some selected Abians earn a source of livelihood in view of the prevailing economic hardship and unemployment level in the country.
Mrs Igbokwe also prayed for the success of the beneficiaries.
The Director General of Ekweremekwe Political Organization, Hon Okechi Utah appreciated the chairman of the foundation Mayor Igbokwe (Don Lulu) for his immense love for humanity. He used the medium to call on the beneficiaries to reciprocate the love Mayor Igbokwe has shown them by putting the machine to good use.
The Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor on Humanitarian Affairs,NGOs and Social Development Dr. Francis Origa whose office partnered with the Foundation to implement the empowerment programme showered encomium on Mayor Igbokwe for his humanitarian disposition through his foundation especially to Abians .
He also called on the beneficiaries not to dump the device at home while promising that his office and the Financial technology company powering the device will be monitoring transactions on each of the device and will reward those who are active and consistent in transacting with the device will be eligible for loan, depending on the volume of transaction they achieve .
